Why a browser page does the job

An app store visit is a lot to ask of someone holding a drink at a wedding. A link that opens straight into the camera roll asks nothing: no search, no install screen, no waiting for it to download over the venue's wifi.

It also means one link works for every guest, whatever phone they carry. There is no separate version for iPhone and Android, and nothing to update mid-evening, because the page they open is always the current one.

What the page can do

Take a photo, or choose several from the gallery at once.
iPhone HEIC pictures are converted automatically, so nobody sees a broken file.
Videos as well as photographs, up to 25 MB each.
Uploads carry on in the background and retry if the signal drops.
A guest sees their own pictures marked as they arrive.
