What is inside a booth quote

Hours. The single biggest line, and the reason quotes are not comparable until you check how many hours each includes.
An attendant. A person on site for the whole booking, gathering people and clearing jams.
Delivery, setup and collection, sometimes billed separately from the hours.
Idle time, for the hours between the drinks reception and the party when the booth stands unused but still occupies the evening.
Prints and consumables. Paper and ink per strip, and the reason unlimited prints costs more than a print cap.
Props and a backdrop, sometimes a package, sometimes an extra.
Travel beyond a set radius from where the company is based.
Overtime, if the evening runs on, usually charged by the hour and usually at the moment you least want to negotiate.

Why the number moves so much

A photo booth is a local service with a van, so the price follows local supply, the day of the week and the season. A Saturday in high summer is not a Tuesday in November, and a city is not a valley two hours from one.

What you give up, honestly

A booth hands people a printed strip before they walk away, and there is nothing quite like that. It also brings a backdrop, a box of props, and an attendant whose job is to pull shy guests in. None of that comes with a QR code on a table.
